Additional Comments
I recently acquired this vehicle from an estate sale. It was purchased by Robert Taylor in 1963 at Hollenback Motors Inc. in Spokane Washington and family owned for 55 years. 54040 actual miles and has been in climate controlled storage for over a half a century. It is all original including paint, panels, interior, top, drive train etc...Only 500 were produced from the factory at a price of 5900. We have some historical documentation including the dealer invoice, 1963 License plates and a tire purchase receipt from 1963. Those tires are still on the vehicle. This could be one of the last remaining survivors in the world.

Model year 1955 saw the Caribbean line, now with V8 engine, fully adopt the Senior Packard line styling; the car was also available in two or three-tone paint patterns. Designer Richard Teague succeeded in restyling the old Packard Senior body into a sensational, modern-looking design. The single hood scoop was split into two units. The car also received Packard's torsion level suspension. Production for 1955 stood at 500 units.

Extremely Rare All Original Survivor

The Detroit-built Packard was completely restyled for 1955, and prestige was still found in the glamorous and exclusive Caribbean models. As it went head-to-head with Cadillac one last time, the boldly designed Packard offered a wraparound windshield, larger tail lamps, lavish interior appointments and an aircraft-inspired instrument panel.

First introduced in 1953, the Caribbean was produced from a body specially modified by Mitchell-Bentley Corporation of Ionia, Michigan and received the new-for-1955 V8 engine and 'Torsion Level' suspension. A mere 500 were built for the 1955 model year.
